Companies try to convince people every day that they can buy a remodeling service combining high standards of workmanship AND superior quality materials at “dirt cheap” prices. It is an unrealistic ideal perpetuated by marketing companies. Plain and simple, this is simply a marketing tactic to get a salesman in your front door.
Your home remodeling project is not a product or a commodity! It is a SERVICE! Having a working relationship with your contractor should be of utmost importance. You should be involved together as a team, striving toward the common goal of making any remodeling project in your home a reality.
We have been a local, Baltimore based business for 18 years and we see what happens regularly in the remodeling field, Good, unsuspecting people get mislead every day by unethical home improvement contractors.
Every homeowner’s remodeling project is unique. During the initial consultation with all of our potential clients, YOU, the homeowner has the opportunity to express your wants and needs involved in the remodeling of your home. Our highly qualified staff will present you with a clear, detailed and accurate estimate that fits your requirements. Our estimates include an exact description of what you want to change in your current living space and what Trademark Construction along with their engineer and designer says is doable, and what is not feasible, based on the Maryland State and Local County building codes.
And then what happens?
We receive that call or an email that says … “Mr. Estimator, we will not be working with your company because we received an estimate from another contractor and the difference is huge! They are $5000 cheaper!”
That is the first red flag. IF the dollar difference is huge, many things are missing from the “cheap estimate”.
Things you need to ask yourself are:
- Is this “cheap contractor” licensed and insured through the State of Maryland?
- Does this “cheap estimate” include everything that was discussed during our initial consultation?
- Does this “cheap estimate” cover all your needs?
- Is the work going to be compliant to the Maryland State and Local County building codes?
- Are you actually working with this “cheap” company and their own employees or are they hiring some guys off a home improvement store parking lot to do the work in your home?
And then?
Months later we receive that frantic call…” Mr. Estimator, we have a huge issue! Our remodeling project is not finished! All of our money is gone and the “cheap contractor” is nowhere to be found!”
The amazing, awe inspiring remodeling project that was supposed to transform your house into your dream home is now a true nightmare. Our best advice? Do not let them in your house.

Nightly during construction, our competent work crews will assure that your home is cleaned and neat until work begins again. You will never left with dirt and construction debris. At the conclusion of the remodel, Mr. Vouros will inspect every detail with the homeowner making SURE that you are completely satisfied with the quality of the work and the materials and the service of our staff.
